When someone dies, notifying Zen Internet is one of the key tasks for the executor or next of kin. This guide explains exactly who to contact, what to say, what documents you will need, and how long Zen Internet takes to process a bereavement notification.
Zen Internet bereavement contact details
Phone: 01706 902 573 — Mon–Fri 9am–5:30pm
Email: support@zen.co.uk
Call 01706 902 573 or email support@zen.co.uk. Zen Internet is a family-run UK ISP known for high customer service standards and UK-based support.
You will need the deceased's Zen account number (on bills or in the account portal), full name, service address, and date of death.
Zen can cancel the service with appropriate notice or transfer it to another person at the same address. For fixed-term contracts, early termination fees are typically waived on death — confirm when you contact them.
Zen will advise on returning any router or equipment provided as part of the service. They will arrange collection or provide a returns process.
Have multiple certified copies of the death certificate ready. Banks and financial institutions each require an original or certified copy — you cannot usually pass a single copy between organisations. See our guide to how many death certificates you need.
Zen Internet typically takes 1–3 weeks to process a bereavement notification once all required documents have been received.
During this period, accounts or services will typically be frozen until the estate is administered. This means no new transactions can be authorised.
Zen Internet is well regarded for customer service and is less likely to have automated barriers than larger telecoms providers. A direct email with the account details and a copy of the death certificate is usually sufficient.
Once Zen Internet receives your notification and confirms receipt, the account or service will be frozen and no new transactions will be authorised. Estate administration can then begin.
Zen Internet will cancel or transfer the service as directed. A final bill will be issued for any outstanding charges, and any credit balance will be refunded. If a contract is ended early, Zen Internet may waive early termination fees — ask the bereavement team directly.
Do not delay notifying Zen Internet
Direct debits and standing orders may continue to be charged after death. Some organisations treat the estate as the debtor for any charges incurred before notification. Notifying Zen Internet promptly protects the estate from unnecessary costs.
